Preschool is waiting.
It’s time to get in the car.
Get in the car now.
The boys are buckled.
Wait—oh no—where are my keys?
Don’t move—I must look.
I go in the house
And search my usual spots.
Shelf, no. Kitchen, no.
I so want to cry.
Then I check Ethan’s coat sleeve.
The keys poke out it.
How did this happen?
No matter—time for school boys.
Sanity is saved.

Thinking that you lost your keys is the worst feeling! Good haiku!
That's such a relief innit?!
I lost my keys for a week and nearly went crazy! Turns out my son had hid them inside our coffee table. I had forgotten the lid even lifted on that thing!
Glad you found yours in time.
Enjoying the haiku! I couldn't find my keys yesterday & had to walk the girls to preschool. I did find them by pick-up time though.
I have enough trouble keeping track of my keys living alone. With kids it's got to be really very crazy, and it's always the worst feeling when you really need to get out the door. Glad it ended well with sanity intact. :)
Ack! That is the worst feeling in the world. Around here it's about bike keys, not car, but still I understand the frantic search!!
When my kids still needed help buckling in I would frequently look for my keys only to find them under the child or under the seat!
My bf loses his keys constantyl unless they're in his bike lock.
I lost my keys in phoenix once, never got them back,it is the worst feeling ever.
my keys suddenly reappeared after months of being lost. why can't those keys stay put?
