Laundry Technicalities

You'd think, after six years of being Chief Laundry Operator, I could fold a fitted sheet. Maybe it's a skill you're born with?

There really is a trick to it. You tuck the ends into each other, then you line up the bits that naturally want to hang out the sides, thereby creating a clean line. Fold, fold, done. It's a total pain in the a**, though, and it requires a table. And even with a table ... my folded fitted sheets look just like yours.

Want to know my other trick?
Strip beds
Wash sheets immediately
Return dried sheets to bare beds
Repeat as needed.
Ignore wadded up sheets in the dresser in the upstairs hallway. Groan in distress when you happen to open that drawer, hoping it's not as bad as you had remembered it. Close drawer immediately and try to forget the mess.

I can't fold them either. I even watched Martha Stewart demonstrate how to once, and it did me no good.

On NO! I was going to recommend the Martha Steward clip too... Maybe just have one for each bed, wash it & put it back on:)

That one always gets me too! I think I am just too impatient.

I don't think it can be done. The folding, that is.

Besides, who actually folds their laundry, anyway?

Hehehe, oops!

When I was in college, a kind woman at the laundromat taught me the secret, and I'm actually not half bad at it. Hard to explain, but it would be easy to show you, but then you'd have to do laundry... and boo to that. ;)

I'm with the first commentor's second trick...I do that all the time!

Those sheets are a bitch to fold, even when you line up the corners and all.
