Wipe Away Spills With Tube Socks

A few months ago, I wrote about how I cut up old, stained t-shirts for rags to mop the floor or wipe off the kitchen counters. Since then, I’ve found a clothing item that works even better for that purpose—tube socks. The wrong side of the sock has a rough surface like a towel, making it great for scrubbing off dried spills off surfaces.
So the next time you come across a holy tube sock, don’t throw it away. Save a tree and reuse the sock to clean up messes around the house.

I've used these before, and it's a great tip. It makes it really easy to dust chandelier lights...though we don't actually have a chandelier, I just did this at my mom's one Thanksgiving.

that is such an excellent idea; I had not thought of that before; it usually goes in the trash; but definitely could be put to better use

thanks for the idea :)

enjoy your Fourth!

This is brilliant! My husband wears nothing but tube socks, I'm sure I could have more than I ever needed if I got him to save them. Thanks so much for the tip. :)

Is it bad that I've taken the socks off of my baby's feet and used them to clean up spit-up if there's no bib or other rag within arm's reach? He doesn't walk yet so his socks are clean, right?!

I have been using the "sock that got away and doesn't have a partner" for years to dust. Just put mismatched socks on your hands and dust away. Kids love it,too :)
