Head Rush

Ethan isn’t the only one whom has conquered a physical goal recently. I did a yoga headstand.
I’ve been trying to keep the chiropractor at bay by getting up in the morning to stretch along with the show, Priscilla’s Yoga Stretches. Last week, she said she will show us how to do a head stand. “You can’t be serious,” I said aloud to myself. I can barely do a forward bend—how can I do “the king of yoga poses,” as Priscilla calls it.
But Priscilla matter-of factedly demonstrated a headstand. You start by getting on your knees and leaning forward to make a tripod with your arms by putting my elbows on the ground and interlacing your fingers together. Then you put your head between your hands and grasp it tightly. You get on your toes and walk toward your elbows. Then came the scary part—you bounce your feet off the ground and try to straighten out your legs.
My first few tries were disasterous, and I kept falling back on my feet. Then, instead of trying to bounce off the ground, I put one leg up in the air and then the other. When my second foot left the ground, my body swayed, but then I tightened up arms and found my balance. The sensation of supporting my body's weight on my arms and head was exhilerating.
I didn’t think I had the upper body strength to do a headstand. Now I try to do one every day, just because I can.

Congratulations! That's awesome! I love your comment about doing one every day just because you can. I haven't done one in years and I think I'm scared to try one now.

I am truly impressed. I barely have the balance to stand on two feet. There's no way I could pull off a headstand.

Wow! That's impressive!
May be you should write a statuatory warning of 'don't try this at home' ....I must tell you, it sounds so easy, and so very tempting! I don't know when I am going to break my leg! ;)
Way to go! :)

Well done you! I feel tempted to try it myself - probably break my neck in the process!

Awesome! I was so proud of myself when I finally could do a yoga headstand. Now I dream of a handstand.

I'm a master of the tripod. Just the tripod. And not that exact one, but one similar. The part where the feet go up is often not a good thing. I may have to try your way because it would be cool to be able to do a headstand just to do it!

If I could do that, I would do it everyday too - just because I could.
