Odorless Perfume

Last week I wrote about making my own cologne from plants in flowers in my yard, including lavender, lemon balm and rose petals. The foliage and flowers steeped in vodka and water for about 10 days. Then the moment of truth arrived. I strained the mixture into a spray bottle and spritzed it onto my skin. It smelled like … nothing. Even though it smells good in the bottle—sweet and a bit citrusy—it must not be concentrated enough to leave any scent on my skin.
So I guess this recipe goes in the DIY beauty recipe scrap heap along with this one.

Oh what a shame! How disappointing for you. Would doubling up on some of the ingredients work? Or perhaps adding a carrier oil (think that's what it's called) might help?

Good for you for the attempt! Wish they could bottle the fragrance of freshly washed clothes. :)

Better luck next time :D We've been looking to experiment with tinctures, haven't quite gotten there yet!
